Gorący Potok Thermal Baths

Wartki Potok, the longest basin at Gorący Potok, runs 70 metres at about 30°C. The outdoor pools in Szaflary are filled with sulphurous geothermal water, and the same homepage both says 21 basins and, in another block, 10 outdoor basins. Ślebodny Bonior is the largest, and the first pool after the changing rooms, at about 37–38°C.

Six basins, and two counts of how many there are

The English homepage carries a Polish paragraph that offers guests 21 basins: fountains, water massage, geysers, a jacuzzi, slides and a children's zone, filled with sulphurous thermal water at 32–40°C. A separate block on that same page says 10 outdoor basins. The pool page repeats 32–40°C. The FAQ, asked for the temperature in the basins, says 34–40°C, and adds that each pool has a plate with the current reading. Wartki Potok, at about 30°C, sits under both of those ranges. The operator says the water comes from underground and is not treated further.

Ślebodny Bonior is the pool the site tells you to enter first, so the body can get used to the heat. It gives the temperature as about 37–38°C, a stay of about 30 minutes, fountains, and a depth of 1.2 metres, and it calls this the largest basin in the complex. Zawaternik przy Smreku is the one with a wooden bar in the middle of the water, also 1.2 metres deep. Siarcane Koloseum is among the warmest, at 38–40°C. A stone fountain in the centre runs hot mineral water, and the label on the page calls it a sulphur-water fountain.

Górsko Riviera is two zones: a hot pool and a side with tables and benches, where a snack bar serves food in summer. The page gives the water as about 38–39°C, a depth of 1.2 metres, and water massage. Wartki Potok is the long one, 70 metres, about 30°C, 1.2 metres deep, and the basin set aside for swimming. Podkowa is the horseshoe. It sits closest to the stage. The page says concerts and performances happen there, that the basin becomes a heated dance floor at pool parties, and that aqua aerobics is most often held in it. No depth or temperature is printed for Podkowa.

The summer yard, with heights written on the slides

The children's zone is seasonal, open in summer, and the page says each part also depends on the weather. Several of the named bits are limited further, to the school holiday period. The zone is alcohol-free. Children in the pools have to be with an adult the whole time.

Three large water slides are for adults and for children who can swim and are above 130 centimetres. The red one is a fast tunnel, 80 metres, with a run of spirals. The yellow one is open and 44 metres. The blue one is a gentler drop, 52 metres, and the same page then says it is for children from 110 centimetres. That 110 and the 130 above it are both printed. Figle Migle is the water playground: slides and jets, for the holiday period. Wet Bubble is a shallow warm thermal pool with a large balloon in the middle that children climb and come off into the water, plus small slides called słoniki. The age cap printed for Wet Bubble is 14. Four inflatable water parks, filled with thermal water, are for children up to 15, again in the holidays. There is a beach-volleyball court and an inflatable mini football pitch.

The splash pad is holiday-only as well, only for children up to 10 and at most 160 centimetres, with the same small słoniki slides. Baba Yaga's playground is a wooden obstacle course and a swing on the beach. The larger part is for children from 12. The smaller part is for children up to 12. Children up to 16 have to be with an adult, and the playground requires shoes. The FAQ also names a balloon pool Children's Spring. The zone page's balloon pool is Wet Bubble. The two names are not tied together on the site.

The adult spa, the restaurant, the camp next door

Grzysno Przyjemność is a separate zone: saunas, granite basins, a rest room, a salt graduation tower and a jacuzzi. The price list says the whole of it is non-textile and only for adults, 18 and over. A swimsuit is not allowed. A towel or a pareo, hired at the spa reception, is the cover the FAQ allows. The homepage adds dry saunas, steam saunas, ceremonies in the sauna called Gawra, three granite basins, and mud baths in vats. Mud baths are an extra on the tariff, not part of the entry. The homepage's English spa line also mentions pools with a higher sulphur content. Massages and beauty treatments are charged on top.

Beef Master is on the first floor of the main building. The homepage lists Uruguay steak, porterhouse and bavette, plus beef burgers, pizza and regional dishes. Camp Gorący Potok stands directly beside the baths. The operator calls it the only campsite by thermal baths in Poland. It has 76 pitches, each with water and electricity, a bathroom block with a kitchen, laundry, a drying room and toilets, a children's playroom, and two gazebos with barbecues.

FAQ

Is the complex step-free for wheelchair users?

The FAQ says the facility is adapted for people with disabilities. It does not say which pools, changing rooms or routes that covers, and it does not mention a pool lift. The phone on the site is +48 727 52 52 52.

How do I get there, and is there parking?

The address is Os. Nowe 45, 34-424 Szaflary, which the FAQ places 15 kilometres from Zakopane. Customer parking is free. The FAQ does not name a bus line, a stop or a walking time.

Does an online ticket skip the queue?

No. Online tickets have their own ticket window, and the FAQ says that is not skip-the-line entry. The online shop has a limited number of tickets. If a date is gone online, the desks may still be selling.

What happens if I stay past the time on the ticket?

The price list charges PLN 1 per minute over the time limit in the pool area and in the spa, and PLN 2 per minute after 22:00. In the spa block it also prints PLN 1 per minute for the pool area after 15 minutes are exceeded.

Are the slides a separate charge?

No. The FAQ says every attraction available in the pool area is included in the ticket. The summer zone, including the slides, still depends on the weather, and several parts of it are limited to the school holidays.

Can I bring food or a drink?

No outside food, drinks or alcohol. Alcohol bought inside is allowed, except in the marked children's zone and in Grzysno Przyjemność, apart from special spa events where a small amount is allowed. Smoking is banned except in marked places.
